Established in 2007, LandSpaces is a design-build landscape architecture and contracting company based in Richmond. Specializing in well-crafted, thoughtfully designed landscapes, we strive to bring aesthetic appeal as well as environmentally appropriate techniques and ideas to every project.
Owner and founder, Peter Rohan, was raised in Berkeley. His first landscaping job was at age sixteen, when he and a friend conceived of a company called “Weed Whackers.” They posted ads highlighting their landscape services on local bulletin boards and drove around with a pickup truck and tools borrowed from dad. This had a major influence on his choice to study landscape architecture in college. During his summer breaks he worked on a landscape installation crew full-time in El Cerrito. Peter received his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2001. While still in Central California, he managed the estates of three private land owners, overseeing property improvements and managing site work. After moving back to the Bay Area, Peter worked at several landscape architecture firms while practicing the craft of landscape construction on weekends. His dynamic personality and love for the outdoors ultimately won out and Peter decided to operate LandSpaces full-time.
We run a small and knowledgeable construction crew and stay involved with our clients and projects from design through construction. We create spaces that add value to your home through the use of high-quality materials and workmanship. We consult with artists, designers, engineers, architects, other contractors and clients to get the job done right the first time.
